The Islamic Museum of Australia's Future Leaders Program invites young Muslims in Years 10-12 to participate in the 5-week program, starting on Friday 31 January 2025 from 5pm - 7pm. This program aims to empower youth through skill development, recreational activities, and community building.
Salim Mohamed, born in Mogadishu, Somalia, and migrated to Australia from Ethiopia in 1998, is a dedicated Youth Empowerment Specialist. He has a rich educational background, including a Certificate IV and Diploma in Youth Work, a Graduate Certificate in Education Studies, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Educational Leadership.
Salim's professional journey includes impactful roles at various organisations such as Melbourne Victory Football Club, Islamic Council of Victoria, and Parkville College. He is passionate about nurturing the potential of young individuals and giving back to his community.
$100 deposit required, 50% returned upon 80 per cent completion of the program. This project is funded by the Australian Government’s Social Cohesion Measures Grant to support the Australian Palestinian, Muslim and other communities affected by the Hamas - Israel conflict. The grant supports an integrated and cohesive multicultural Australia.
