Entries for Australian Muslim Artists 2024 are now open
Australian Muslim Artists (AMA) Art Prize was born in 2019 from the success of the AMA exhibition
established five years earlier. The annual shortlisted showcase brings together artists whose varied
approaches to visual and Islamic art forms convey the creative breadth and cultural diversity of
Muslim artists. An acquisitive cash prize, sponsored by La Trobe University, is awarded to the
winning artist.
AMA continues to support contemporary artists by offering an opportunity to present their work in a
professional environment, in line with the Museum’s mission and vision.
We are excited to continue the inaugural Australian Muslim Artist Art Prize, thanks to the support of prize sponsor La Trobe University. The Australian Muslim Artist Art Prize recipient will be awarded $10,000 cash and the prize also includes acquisition of the winning piece by La Trobe University.
A People’s Choice Art Prize will be awarded at the conclusion of the AMA2024 exhibition, following voting by Museum visitors during the AMA2024 exhibition period. This is a non-acquisitive, $1,000 cash prize.
With thanks to the Australian Muslim Artist Art Prize sponsor:
