Join us for a fun and educational Geometric Watercolour Painting Workshop created especially for kids!

Geometric patterns are one of the most recognisable and meaningful forms of Islamic art. Found in mosques, palaces, manuscripts and everyday objects, these intricate designs reflect balance, order and the beauty of mathematics in the natural world. They also echo the saying of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh): “Allah (God) is Beautiful and loves beautiful things.” Inspired by this idea, Muslims have long decorated buildings, textiles, ceramics and books with beautiful geometric patterns.

In its ongoing commitment to combatting Islamophobia, the Islamic Museum of Australia champions an understanding and appreciation for Islamic art and culture. The Autumn School Holiday workshops are supported by the Victorian Government.
