Design and decorate your own book box inspired by patterns, colours, and motifs found in Islamic art.
Open for ages : 6+
Books and knowledge have long held a special place in Islamic culture. For centuries, scholars, poets, and scientists carefully preserved knowledge through beautifully written manuscripts, libraries, and book collections that helped ideas travel across the world.
In this creative workshop, participants will design and decorate their own book box inspired by patterns, colours, and motifs found in Islamic art. Using a variety of materials and techniques, transform a simple box into a decorative piece designed to store your favourite books, journals, or special keepsakes.
Celebrate the tradition of learning and creativity while creating a unique book box to take home.
In its ongoing commitment to combatting Islamophobia, the Islamic Museum of Australia champions an understanding and appreciation for Islamic art and culture. The Autumn School Holiday workshops are supported by the Victorian Government.
