Journey into the world of pattern and colour through the gentle art of watercolour.
Suitable for ages : 7+
Journey into the world of pattern and colour through the gentle art of watercolour. In this workshop, participants will create beautiful bookmarks inspired by Arabesque designs, the intricate, interlacing patterns that reflect harmony and balance in Islamic art.
You’ll explore how repeating forms and flowing lines come to life through brush and water. With a choice between freehand drawing or using geometric templates, each participant will discover their own rhythm and style.
This mindful and creative session celebrates the elegance of tradition through a modern lens, blending fluid colour, delicate detail, and a touch of imagination to craft a keepsake that’s both personal and inspired by centuries of artistic heritage.
In its ongoing commitment to combatting Islamophobia, the Islamic Museum of Australia champions an understanding and appreciation for Islamic art and culture. The school holiday workshops are supported by the Victorian Government.
