The Illusion of Inclusion: Confronting Islamophobia in the Workplace

Join us for the Islamic Museum of Australia’s Annual Business Lunch as we unpack the realities of Islamophobia and the uncomfortable gap between diversity rhetoric and real inclusion.

John O’Rourke, Co-Founder of Plenary and Chair of Richmond Football Club, will reflect on how high-profile institutions can model inclusive leadership and influence cultural change - within the workplace and beyond.

Dr Susan Carland will reveal the everyday impact of Islamophobia through research and experience, drawing from the Islamophobia in Australia Report 5.

Moustafa Fahour OAM, Founder of IMA and corporate leader, will challenge business communities to move beyond surface-level inclusion and drive meaningful accountability.

This timely event explores the responsibility of leadership, the cost of silence, and what it truly takes to foster workplaces where inclusion isn’t just a slogan—but a lived reality.

This is a must-do business lunch for government, corporates and not for profit professionals committed to leading from the front!
